Dancing Prevents Old Age Onset

Last night I went dancing in Lake Worth which is right next to West Palm Beach, Florida. I went with Michael Goodman, a fellow Tantra teacher and Eastern Philosophy scholar. He also happens to be a great dancer, but I did not know it when we made the plans to go. I have found that many people say they're good dancers and then they are not. You know, it's like people who say they are great lovers and they are blowing smoke up your ass (literally). If I say so myself, I am a great dancer. Always have been! So, I have very little patience for people who say they are and are not. Michael turned out to be his word in the matter. How cool is that?

Okay, anyway, when we got there, we were surpirsed to see we were amidst people in their 70's, 80's and even 90's. I mean we're in Florida, but really, this was going too far. But boy, they sure could dance. They did Foxtrot, Jitterbug, Waltz, Polka (we didn't), Cha Cha, Merengue and Salsa. And since there were more women than men, quite a few women danced by doing line dances at the front part of the ballroom. There were a few couples who were really excellent dancers. The point is they were old, but they were all sooooooooo young! No wheel chairs in sight.

If you don't dance, you might rethink your aging strategy and take up dancing instead of playing cards. These people were defintely in the pink.

And I will be that way too for a long time to come :-) Yeah Baby!

i was trying to sign up for the gate dinner, and read your blog here about dancing. you are my soul sister when it comes to ddancing because i heard what you said over the weekend about not liking to dance so close to someone who has pressed their appendage against your body! ew! it's hard for me to also dance with a partner because i find that i just need to be FREE!!!!! ha! but, i studied latin ballroom dancing when i was younger (my father was an amateur competitor in Sarasota), and it truly is a great mix of dances to learn! I'm so proud of you for taking on Tango in Argentina! I have not connected yet to that part of my herritage (great grandmother was from that country but landed in italy and married a full blooded italian). Anyway, i hope one day we can at least do the hustle together! i love your passion for dance. you are the kind of person i make my music for! i love you dearly! namaste! dyana jean
