Taj Mahal - Worth the trip!

Well, I set out into the Indian countryside with my driver, Tony, and plenty of tiolet paper and the like. The driving here is nothing like anyone can imagine. They drive on the same side as the Brits. After that nothing resembles anything I've ever experienced. On there road at any given time, and sometimes all at the same time are: cars, trucks, rickshaws, bikes, motor cycle taxis, camels, horses, donkeys, bears, monkeys and god knows what else. So, it's very crazy, but wonderful at the same time.
We found out way to Agra and yesterday I went at dawn to visit the temple of devotion and love to a king's lost love. Amazing building, amazing testimony to love. I had a marvelous guide and we shared many laughs and much information. I now know why it has been called one of the wonders of the world. Marble and semi-precious stones make up the walls and so much beauty all around. I was in awe.
My big "a ha" for the day yesterday as we weaved our way to Jaipur was that Indian women wear beautiful saris to work in the fields and work on the highways. They look the goddess everyday in bright colors, amazing colors even if they are poor with no electricity or running water. And I wear a sari to a wedding or puja celebration - almost need an excuse to dress up as the goddess. I will re-think this. If I am goddess, then I am. I need no excuse to look it.
Namaskar,
Laurie
