Into the Swing of Things

I have started to get used to it. My friends who live here and have prepared me for the rest of the journey thought I was being too easy going. Kind of a compliment, but they thought it inappropriate for the streets of India. I am in a very good space. I imagine it will be challenging to set out on my own tomorrow even if I have a driver and guides most of the way. I leave Delhi for Agra tomorrow, home of the Taj Mahal. I'm amazed at how many people DO NOT speak English. The food is great and I've already done some fabulous Goddess shopping. Oh yes, and the weather here is cold! Surprise. Thank goodness I looked on the weather site before leaving. I would have had all the wrong clothes. Now I at least have some of what I need. Could have used another couple of sweaters and wraps. Could have left the tank tops home. But maybe they'll come in handy yet especially if I add Goa to my trip, which I might. Here's something quick to mention about the prices here. I had the big black suitcase that I carry all workshop related materials in fixed in NY for $48. The wheels needed replacing. I needed the newer big blue suitcase repaired when I arrived in Delhi. The wheels might have come off and the zipper was broken. They fixed it before my eyes for $2. Okay!

Did I say the food is great? Oh, Baby, the food is great!

And I've replaced 5pm Vodka with tea time. That should make a difference around the waist and butt.

Had a massage today by a very strong Shakti. She spoke almost no English, but knew the words, "Strong massage?" It was a good old fashioned hard muscular work full body massage, nothing fancy, but really good and the price: $10. Hmmmmmm.

Ready now to go off tomorrow morning.

Ciao!
Laurie

Hi Laur.
Very interesting to be able to follow you on your adventures. You're going to have a great time.

Dad's OK. He's feeling comfortable at Stanley's. He got anxious about a couple things but I helped him with them.

I'll be checking in daily to see what you're up to.
